Culture at KiwiRail

8.8
8.8 rating for Culture, based on 10 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The culture is very chill. As long as you do 40 hours in a week. As long as you get the work done, no one will judge. There's always something going on, whether its a quiz, webinar, or after work drinks, there's something happening most weeks.

There is a strong culture of teamwork and friendliness. Staff and departments are familiar with each other across locations and business areas and are always happy to explain their role or help. Social events are organized regularly.

Very social.

Each department is split into specialist teams. Each specialist team operates differently and has their own different culture. Overall, the office for this department is open and can freely socialise with each other.

Generally very open to talk to most people. Hierarchy works well in small groups with managers knowing employees.

I feel very supported by my manager and buddy.; I feel comfortable communicating to them about how I am progressing, and also about things outside of work that may affect my performance. I feel very inspired by their enthusiasm and I appreciate everything they have done to make me feel welcome as a new employee. I can not praise them enough. It is the best environment I have ever worked in and it inspires me to work harder every day. Outside of my immediate team, everyone has been welcoming and friendly. I think the business has a positive approach to mental health and supporting their employees (e.g. are you ok day).
