What is my job about?
My job is mainly around consulting with clients to design the Oracle software to suit the needs of their organisation, allowing the business to maximise value. Problem solving is also a critical but rewarding part of the job.
What’s your background?
At university I studied a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Management and Human Resource Management.
Could someone with a different background do your job?
Yes definitely – with my degree relating to HR and Management, I didn’t study anything relating to technology. Any background that provides you with skills relating to communication, problem solving, and general business operations should give you a strong foundation to build on.
What’s the coolest thing about your job?
Working with a wide variety of clients from various industries gave me an insight into how different industries operate and function. No day is the same in consulting and you get to develop skills for handling different situations. Getting to meet a wide range of people from all over Australia/New Zealand that specialise in different aspects of an organisation is extremely helpful for personal development
